How Does Extrude Honing Work?
Extrude honing works by taking a non-corrosive and chemically inactive media and utilizing pressure to push it back and forth through a component. The abrasive media changes the surface characteristics of the component as it is forced through the chamber. Rate of removal and final finishing removal depends strictly on the flow rate of the media, the abrasiveness of the media, viscosity, particle density, particle hardness, and workpiece hardness. The process is designed for deburring, polishing, radiusing and more.
