We have the right AFM tooling to direct abrasion to your specs.
An important basic requirement in abrasive flow machining is the tooling. Each tool, being essentially a holding fixture, does three things:
- Holds and supports the workpiece while it is processed
- Directs the flow of abrasive media to the area of the workpiece requiring abrasive flow
- Protects other areas of the workpiece where no abrasive flow is desired
The tooling is designed to contain the process as operations are conducted on the workpiece.
In most cases, the area of the workpiece to be processed is set up to provide a pressure restriction for the abrasive flow to remove the material as required.
